Before you begin:
Download and install Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) on your computer and create a free Adobe account, using the same email address and the same password as on your Nook (which is also the same as your Barnes and Noble account).
Step 1. Check out your book on Overdrive
Visit Digital Library NJ to search for an eBook. Log in by selecting MAIN from the dropdown menu and by entering your library card number. Once you’ve found the book you want to check out, click “add to Cart.”
(From your Cart, you will then proceed to Checkout. A drop-down menu will let you select a lending period).
Step 2. Download ebook and Open in Adobe Digital Editions
Click the download link to download the file. You can choose to open with Adobe Digital Editions.
In Adobe Digital Editions, click on the Library icon (red arrow below). This is where you will transfer the ebook to your Nook. Your library will display as a list of titles or as images, depending on which option you have selected.
Step 3. Transfer the ebook to your Nook
Connect your Nook to your computer. Your Nook should appear in your Adobe Digital Editions library page as shown below:
NOTE: if your Nook doesn’t show up in Adobe Digital Editions, exit and reopen ADE.
Next, click on the book you want to transfer to your Nook and drag it to your Nook icon as shown here:
Congratulations, your ebook is now in your Nook library!
